The hotel was nice. The lift terrible. That probably needs replacing or maintenance. Reception staff not great, no enthusiasm. I don’t think I met one staff member in this place that smiled. Not sure why. You get more enthusiastic customer service in ibis! Room decent, shower excellent. There’s bits they can improve on. Breakfast lovely. Staff bored, robotic.
Would I stay again? Nope, I’ll try someplace else for service.
Check-in Counter:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5/5)
The staff is very kind and polite👍
The check-in process was smooth👍
The Room:⭐️⭐️⭐️(3/5)
We were assigned to the room on lower ground, which is near the stair, therefore we kept hearing some noise on the ceiling. The room has a balcony, however there had some spider web on chairs so we didn't use it.
The Bathroom:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4/5)
The bathroom looks clean and new, it's good.
The hotel description mention that they will provide the toiletries, however they are missed.
This is one of the converted townhouse hotels that are in huge supply in London. The layout isn’t too bad and the redecoration is good and recent, if perfunctory (my room for example had the metal carpet gripper detached from the floor and wobbling around when you stood on it; and the wire for fire evacuation diagram which was originally hung from the wall had snapped, so rather than repair it they had put it in a drawer). It’s not a 5* hotel, more like a £100-£150 for a night. Because it’s newly decorated it doesn’t feel like lots of the smelly old ones in terrible repair that you get. Three things irked me: the light in the minibar was permanently on, and shone through the glass door. I’d put something in the fridge and didn’t want to turn it off, so had that for the night. Secondly, there was a bright green light beaming down from the ceiling. Imagine a green Hal9000 beaming down at you all night. I messaged the staff about how to turn it off and they replied that it was a safety light that had to be left on. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and never had a mandatory safety light so bright that it interferes with your sleep. Their suggestions were: wear a mask (I can’t sleep with them), or “try repositioning the bed”. This was quite funny, the room is a small single, the only place I cold have had respite from the green eye was in the bathroom, and the problem with dragging the mattress in there, even if it fitted, was - my third gripe - that the shower flooded the room each time you used it, even on low setting. I’m not planning a return.
